Description
This synopsis is amended to add the following questions questions and answers: 1. Who is the incumbent? Where are they located? What are the current fees that the government is paying for these services (i.e., title commitment and closing) ? Answer: There is no incumbent. This is the first contract. 2. Approximately how many easements are expected per year? Answer: Approximately 8-10 per year. 3. Where are most of the easements geographically located (North, South, West Coast, East Coast, Central)? Answer: Statewide - mostly south and central. 4. Can the contractor bill for additional fees if during the title search it is learned that multiple chains of title need to be searched in relation to one easement? Answer: No, this is a firm fixed price contract. 5. Who does the curative work? Answer: The Government and the Owner. 6. What is the expected turnaround time for obtaining the PTO's? Answer: Two weeks or less. 7. Is the land predominately unimproved (no dwellings or other improvements)? Answer: Agricultural improvements. Typically no dwellings or farm buildings. 8. What is the average size of an easement (in acres)? Answer: They Vary. This year 50 acres to 2000 acres. 9. What is the average price per acre that the government pays landowners for easements? Answer: The amount averages anywhere from $500 to $3000. 10. How many awards does the government anticipate making? Answer: A minimum of 2, possibly 3.
