Description
Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is seeking engineering and cost data on existing high-speed vessels to support the development and validation of concept design analytical tools to support future Navy programs. There is no restriction on hull form or type. These vessels are being considered for transport of medium sized tactical loads in support of the Seabasing concept. Notional vessel range of requirements include: 500 and 1000 short tons of cargo (rolling stock, containers, troops, etc.) at speeds between 35 and 45 knots (with cargo) over the distances of 1000-2500 nautical miles. Data is needed to calibrate Government concept design tools. NAVSEA is seeking the following information: -Vessel principal characteristics -General arrangements -Lines drawing and offsets -Cargo carrying characteristics (axle loads, cargo area, etc.) -Vessel powering data -Cargo capacity as a function of speed and range -Vessel full and lightship displacement and weight breakdown, if available -Vessel procurement cost and cost breakdown, if available -Operational restrictions (operational envelope, etc.) -Vessel classification -Seakeeping data -Domestic production cost data (labor and material) by one or two digit ship work breakdown structure is also desired Submission of the information listed above is strictly voluntary and submitters will receive no funding from the Government. It is requested that the vessel information be submitted preferably before 15 June 2005 and no later than 30 June 2005 at the following address: Commander, Naval Sea Systems Command, Attn: John Kimener, SEA 0222, 1333 Isaac Hull Ave. SE Stop 2020, Washington Navy Yard, D.C. 20376-0001. The U.S. Government will safeguard and protect of all privately owned and proprietary information submitted. Any non-government support personnel will be required to sign Non-Disclosure agreements prior to participating in any engineering assessments based on data received.
