- Description
- The U.S. Army Engineer District New Orleans has a requirement for removal, refurbishment, and replacement of 2 Linkbelt TC 48A cranes at the3 Bonnet Carre Spillway. The following work shall be accomplished during the refurbishment: 1. replace sheet metal on crane cab. 2. repair boom. 3. repair bridle. 4. repair bail. 5. replace cables. 6. rebuild all shafts. 7. replace engine water pump. 8. repair radiator. 9. install high amperage alternator. 10. reseal center swivel. 11. repair engine clutch. The Government is awarding the first crane with an option to proceed on the second crane provided that repair of both cranes can be completed by 30 September 2005. Repairs to the second crane will be authorized by the Contracting Officer via contract modi fication when the first crane's delivery date is firmly established and upon receipt of a firm schedule demonstrating that repairs to the second crane will be completed and delivered prior to 30 September 2005 (FAR 17.207(a)). Offerors will provide an est imated completion date of the first crane. The contract will require the successful offeror to confirm the delivery date at least 2 weeks prior to delivery of the first crane to allow the Contracting Officer time to make a decision on exercising the optio n for the second crane. The decision to exercising the option rests with the Contracting Officer based on the awardee demonstrating that performance on the second crane will be satisfactorily completed prior to 30 September 2005. Note: Base Crane - Linkbelt TC 48A, Stock Number 094343, and MS# 3AT-699 (east crane) Option Crane - Linkbelt TC 48A, Stock Number 094342, and MS# 3AT-670 (west crane). A site visit is required prior to submitting a bid to allow for a more accurate assessment. The date of the site visit is Wednesday, 25 May 05, at 10:00 a.m. Point of contact for the visit is Curtis Vicknair at (504) 491-6832. After the work is completed on the crane, the crane will be weighed. This requirement, solicitation W912P8-05-R-0034, will be procured as a firm fixed price contract. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811310 and the business size is $6,000,000.00. All responsible sources may subm it a response which, if timely received, will be considered by the Corps of Engineers.
