Description

AMENDMENT 1 HAS BEEN ADDED TO FEDBIZOPPS TO PROVIDE CLARIFICATION OF QUESTIONS SUBMITTED AND TO EXTEND THE BID OPENING DATE TO MAY 31, 2005 AT 2:00 PM. United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Midwest Area has a project entitled Building 157 Boiler Demolition and Steam Line Replacement at the USDA-ARS National Animal Disease Center in Ames, Iowa. The work includes but is not limited to: furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other necessary work to remove existing underground steam piping and replace with new underground piping and extend to Building 157; remove existing steam boiler in Building 157 and connect new steam piping so as to provide campus steam supply and return to Building 157. The period of performance is 60 days. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the Specifications and Drawings. Bonding will be required. Estimated price range is: Between $100,000 and $250,000. This acquisition will be procured as a full and open competition under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The NAICS code is 238220 and the annual size standard is 12.0 million. This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-02. Solicitation No. 5114-5-0200 is scheduled to be posted on the FedBizOpps website at www.fedbizopps.gov on or about April 25, 2005. It is the responsibility of the contractor to check the website for the solicitation, as well as any amendments that may arise. All responsible and qualified sources may submit a bid that will be considered by the agency. A pre-bid site visit will be scheduled and information provided in the solicitation. This will be the only opportunity to visit the job site prior to submission of bid. Sealed bids will be due by 2:00 pm on May 31, 2005. A firm-fixed price contract will be awarded to the responsible offeror who submits the lowest bid.
