- Preparation and interior painting of the Mail Handling part of the Detroit P & DC, which encompasses the Work Room Floors and K-Ramp, 4 floors, plus the truck maneuvering and dock areas on the Ground Floor. This area is approximately 1 Million Square Feet. All offices, locker rooms, toilets, storerooms, etc including Mechanical Equipment Rooms are to be painted. This is an active Postal Facility and will not shut down during this project and the contractor is not allowed to obstruct to flow of the mail in any way. The work shall be conducted in phases with each phase substantially complete before the beginning of the next phase. The phases are tentatively shown in the 5 sketches attached at the end of the specs and will be mutually determined with the contractor and a USPS representative prior to the start of work. Minority-owned and Women-owned Business participation is encouraged. Construction cost range: $1,000,000 to $1,250,000. Performance time will be 270 calendar days from the date after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Evaluation criteria in addition to price will be considered and are as follows: 1. A Management Plan addressing how to handle OHSA and IAW standards, 30 pts; 2. Adequate staffing resources sufficient to do work in a timely manner per schedule in solicitation, 30 pts; 3. Must demonstrate successful completion on projects of a similar scope and magnitude (examples must be provided, as well as, contacts), 25 pts; 4. Attendance at the pre-proposal conference,15 pts; 5. Must have been in business for at least five (5) years, pass/fail. Specifications will be available on or about May 26, 2005. Specifications will be provided for a non-refundable cost of approximately $75.00 to $125.00. Exact cost will be provided by LDI when placing your order. LDI will send all solicitations overnight mail (express mail) and this is included in the cost of plans and specifications. Orders can be pre-paid by Corporate or Personal Check made out to LDI Reproprinting Center (DO NOT MAKE THE CHECK OUT TO THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE). All proposal information received is CONFIDENTIAL until award of a contract. The name of the successful offeror and the amount of the contract will be released as public information.
