Description
BLM Request for Proposals, NAR050092, Veterinary Services at the Palomino Valley Wild Horse and Burro Corrals on an as needed basis for a 12 Month Period, With Four 12 Month Option Periods. Solicitation number NAR050092 applies and will be issued as a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the following requirement: The Bureau of Land Management's Palomino Valley Wild Horse and Burro Corrals has a requirement for Veterinary Services as follows: The contractor shall provide routine veterinary services on an as needed basis at the Palomino Valley Corrals located in Sparks, Nevada. The contractor(s) will be reimbursed based on the hourly rate set forth in the contract. The workload will vary seasonally, with the peak occurring between July and April. At times services will be required seven days a week. Workload can be expected to vary depending on shipping activity and the health of the population at the facilities. The veterinarian, or alternate veterinarian, must be available at the site within 4 hours of notification, 1 hour in case of emergency. The name, address and telephone number of the back-up veterinarian must be provided. The duties require a veterinarian licensed in the State of Nevada, USDA accredited for issuing interstate health certificates, and skilled in handling and treating ungentled large animals, specifically horses and burros. Approximately 80 percent of the estimated workload is for animal preparation for adoption, which includes Worming, Freeze marking and Tagging, Aging, Vaccination and Drawing blood samples for equine infectious anemia (EIA) testing and preparing documentation for submission to the appropriate laboratory. This is a 100 percent set-aside for small business. The NAICS classification is 541940. Size standard is $6 million. Proposals are due June 30, 2005 by 2:00 PM Mountain Time. Vendors must be registered at http://www.ccr.gov in order to be eligible for award. The solicitation will be made available at http://www.fedbizopps.gov on or about May 26, 2005. The solicitation must be downloaded via the Internet, as hard copies will not be made available. Facsimile proposals will not be accepted.
