Description

This contract requires the Contractor to produce and deliver specified quantities of the AIP and demonstrate by testing that the initial deliveries conform to Government specifications. Deliveries of AIP during option years of this contract will be used by the Government (not the Contractor) to test the operational utility of AIP prior to any Government decision to fully deploy AIP. The AIP will be used in conjunction with the standard 463L Cargo Nets, Pallets and associated material handling equipment. DOD customers requiring cargo transport will load/band cargo on the AIP. The AIP will be delivered to the aerial port. Then the AIP will be loaded and ?netted? on the 463L Pallet for transport throughout the military airlift system which includes cargo loaders, forklifts, and conveyor systems. The cargo carrying equipment includes the C-130, C-5, and C-17 aircraft, flat bed trailers, and intermodal containers.
