- The U. S. Department of the Interior, Minerals Management Service, on behalf of Redstone Technical Test Center(RTTC), Development Test Command, US Army Test and Evaluation Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, intends to make a firm-fixed price, sole source award to Instron Corporation (Wilson/Shore Instruments), Norwood, MA. Specifically, RTTC has the need for a B2000 Base Rockwell Tester System to include; RB2000 Digital Rockwell - Size 3 test Options, RB2000 Digital Rockwell Scale Option, RB2000 Digital Control panel option, with following accessories; Installation and Setup, Round specimen Anvil, 1" Pedestal spot Anvil, Diamond Spot Anvil, 8" Testing Table, Small Gooseneck Adapter, Vibration Isolation Platform, Foot Switch for series 2000, Enhanced Operator Panel, Audible Alarm, HRC Scale Master Block/Indenter Kit, HRB Scale master Block/Indenter Kit, "C" Brale Diamond Indenter, "N" Brale Diamond Indenter, "A" Brale Diamond Indenter, King Portable Brinell Tester, Deep Reading Brinell Microscope. Instron Corporation is the sole manufacturer and supplier of the Series 2000 Rockwell Hardness Tester. This announcement is published as a Sole Source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. This is NOT a request for competitive quotes. The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. However, all information received by 4:30 p.m. EST May 26, 2005 will be considered by the Government. The anticipated award date is May 27th, 2005.
