- Western Area Power Administration intends to acquire on a Sole Source basis maintenance/engineering support services, equipment, parts and components (hardware and software) for the Watertown Static Var System under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The Static Var System involves complicated, patented equipment and control schemes (hardware and software) that were furnished by the original equipment manufacturer (Areva ) and can not be investigated, repaired, adjusted or altered by other vendors. Anticipated award date is May 31, 2005. This notice is not a request for quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirements by emailing the Contract Specialist. Capability statements must include documentation ability to satisfy the Government's requirements. Any information received will be considered for the purpose of conducting a competitive proposal.
