Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial supplies prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number AGFS-ORB-05-Q-4024 applies and is issued as a Request for Quotation. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-03. This requirement is being solicited on an unrestricted basis with full and open competition. The NAICS Code is 423310 Size Standard is 100 Employees. This requirement is for a fixed priced contract. The statement of work reads: SCOPE OF CONTRACT: The Contractor shall furnish, deliver and off-load rough-sawn, white oak deck boards at the designated Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie location. The boards shall be the actual dimensions as designated (not nominal). The grade of the lumber shall be No. 2A Common, construction grade or better and not of ?green wood? (moisture content shall be less than 19%). The timber boards shall be delivered and off-loaded by the contractor at the designated site. The boards shall be stored at the site by the contractor in such a manner as to prevent warping, bowing, splitting and disfiguration. DELIVERY: The boards shall be delivered and off-loaded at the designated site adjacent to Illinois State Route 53 as approved by a designated representative of the USDA Forest Service. The site shall located within the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, Wilmington, IL. Contact J. Brian Eaton (815) 423-6370 for exact delivery location. White Oak Deck Boards The timber boards shall be of white oak timber , Quercus alba, rough-sawn with the following actual dimensions (not nominal): 3? x 6? x 12? 6?. 3? x 8? x 12? 6? 2? x 9? x 10? 2? 2? x 9? x 60 ?? The grade shall be No. 2 A Common, construction grade or better with a moisture content of less than nineteen percent (19%) and shall be approved by a designated representative of the USDA Forest Service. The boards shall be devoid of knotts with the potential of breaking off or rupture. In addition, the boards shall not be bowed, split nor splintered. INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE: Inspection and acceptance will be at destination.
