- THIS MODIFICATION CHANGES THE DATE OF RECEIPT TO MAY 31, 2005 AT CLOSE OF BUSINESS. This acquisition on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest has a requirement for a contact ranger on the Methow Valley Ranger District in Winthrop, WA that will educate the public about a multi-faced program called ?Respect the River?. This duty includes making contacts with recreationists who are recreating near or at rivers at developed and dispersed (user-created) campsites. The work to be performed will involve sharing both basic information about natural resource conservation in the area (e.g. fish and riparian needs) and tips about how individuals can behave in these riverine setting to assure that both needs of people and the natural world are met. Work will also involve recording and evaluating site visits near the Chewuch, Methow, and Twisp Rivers. In addition, interaction with the public through a local farmer?s market in the towns of Twisp and Mazama will be required. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, tools, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals necessary to perform the work in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the contract. The contract will be a multiple year firm fixed price with a Base Year and Two Option Years. The Base Year contract period will run from date of award through October 16, 2005. Each Option Year, if exercised, will run from July 1 through October 16 thereafter. This project will be advertised as a request for quotations. Estimated start work date is July 1, 2005.
