Description

Rental of one AC-680FL or equal aircraft to support the National Marine Mammal Laboratory in an aerial survey of Cook Inlet, Alaska for Beluga whales. Surveys will be flown at an altitude of 800 feet MSL around and across Cook Inlet with the intent to document the distribution and abundance of Beluga whales. Flight will be made daily when weather allows. When whales are found, the aircraft must be flown in a "racetrack" pattern to maximize opportunities for observers to count and video whales. Multiple passes may be required over each group of whales. Start date is May 30, 2005 and will end June 9, 2005. Aircraft will be equipped beyond Part 135 requirements with GPS with data port, audio headsets for all passengers, intercom with a master control box with on/off switches, and a desk for laptop computer at rear of seating location. Vendor must have an Aircraft Rental Agreement (ARA) with Alaska Regional Office of Aviation Management. Pilot and aircraft will be endorsed for precision reconnaissance.
