- The Norfolk District is offering for sale approximately 691 tons of standing pine sawtimber, 361 tons of standing pine pulp, 215 tons of standing hardwood sawtimber, and 167 tons of standing hardwood pulpwood on approximately 34 acres at Fort Pickett , Blackstone, Virginia. The total number of items for this sale is one (1). The timber to be sold may be inspected by prospective purchasers through May 31, 2005. Arrangements for inspections should be made by contacting Mr. Paul Carter, telephone (434) 292-2500. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m., June 2, 2005, by the Acquisition, Management, and Disposal Section, Real Estate Branch, Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 803 Front Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23510-1096, and then and t here publicly opened and announced. Forms for use in submitting bids may be obtained from Mr. Carter at Fort Pickett or from the Acquisition, Management, and Disposal Section, address shown above. Terms and conditions of sale, procedure for submitting bi ds, and a description of the timber are contained in the bid forms. This sale will be sold by Weight.
