Description
Magnitude of Construction is under $100,000.00 A Pre-Bid Site Visit will take place on 1 June 2005 at 1:00 pm. All prospective bidders shall meet with the GSA Officials at 124 Barnard St, Room B-114, Savannah, GA 31401 15 minutes prior to the site visit. SOLICITATION PACKAGE WILL BE HANDED OUT AT TIME OF PRE-BID SITE VISIT FOR ALL INTERESTED PARTIES. MARSHAL SERVICE SERVER ROOM (GA0078ZZ) Federal Court House Savannah, Georgia SCOPE OF WORK GENERAL: The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision required to safely complete the work detailed below. Remove existing roll carpeting and install approximately 230 square feet of 12? x 12? VCT over ?? plywood underlayment. Furr approximately 350 square feet of existing brick walls with 3 ?? sheet metal studs, install 3 ?? craft faced insulation, and install and finish ?? sheet rock on one side. Construct approximately 160 square feet of partition with 3 ?? sheet metal studs, install 3 ?? craft faced insulation, and install and finish ?? sheet rock on one side. Install one 3? x 6?8? wood door and frame in new partition, with hardware and keyed lockset. Furnish and install approximately 230 square feet of drop ceiling system complete with grid system and 2? x 2? x ?? mineral fiber lay-in tiles. Trim existing entrance door to new walls and install automatic door closer. Install approximately 14 linier feet of countertop work surface with support legs. Install approximately 16 linier feet of 12? paint grade shelves. Paint approximately 510 square feet of wall surface and two doors and frames with two coats of latex paint. Install approximately 65 feet of vinyl cove base. Install two new sprinkler heads. Relocate existing heat detector. Install one 10 pound ABC fire extinguisher. Install one, two beam, battery operated, emergency light pack. Remove existing incandesant light fixture and box. Install four, 2x2, T-12, lay in light fixtures in drop ceiling. Install the following electrical circuits, complete with circuit breakers, EMT conduit, and noted devices attached. One, 240 volt, 30 amp circuit with a 30 amp safety disconnect switch. Two, 120 volt, 20 amp circuits with one, four gang, dedicated outlet (complete) on each circuit. One 120 volt, 30 amp, circuit, with one 30 amp dedicated outlet (complete). One 120 volt, 20 amp, circuit, with six duplex receptacles (complete). One 120 volt, 20 amp lighting circuit for lights specified above. One 120 volt, 20 amp circuit, with one t-slot dedicated receptacle (complete). Install two standard outlet boxes with EMT conduit and pull string for a phone drop provided by others. Install one government provided free standing air conditioning unit including: Wire unit to safety disconnect switch. Plumb condensate pump to drain line. Cut a hole above the drop ceiling, install sleeve, and attach vent duct. Fabricate and install a 4? x 8? sheet metal drain pan above the drop ceiling to protect servers. Install a condensate pump in the drain pan, wire to outlet circuit, and plumb discharge to drain pipe. Install two, five button cipher locks with patch plates. Provide pre-cut framing and tarp in a designated staging area for emergency, severe weather protection. WORKMANSHIP: All work shall meet or exceed the best practices and standards of the trades involved. Electrical work shall be in accordance with the current edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Sprinkler work shall be in accordance with the current edition of the International Fire Code and applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes. All construction work shall be in accordance with the current edition of the International Building Codes (IBC). SPECIAL STIPULATIONS: All work will be closely coordinated with the occupants of the area to minimize disruption of normal work in the area. Paint colors will be approved by the occupant of the area. Contractor shall remove all trash and debris generated as a result of this work on a daily basis; and avoid blocking of aisles, exits and access to equipment at all times. All electrical outages, fire system outages, or other building system disruptions will be coordinated with, and approved by building operations personnel. All penetrations of fire or smoke rated walls, and brick walls will be patched and sealed with fire rated caulk. A permit from GSA Property Management will be required for any welding work. Government provided self-contained HVAC unit will be delivered to the loading dock of the J.G. Low Federal building ? Building C. Contractor will be responsible for movement of the unit from the point of delivery. The contractor will be required to provide information required and assist the building operations personnel in updating the building prints. The contractor will provide building operations personnel with two copies of installation, operation, maintenance, and parts manuals for all equipment installed as part of this project.
