- PREVIOUSLY ADVERTISED IN CRAIN'S CHICAGO BUSINESS 7/5/2004 WANTED TO LEASE OFFICE SPACE TO THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT The United States Government is interested in leasing a maximum of 91,141 square feet of rentable space in Chicago, Illinois. The rentable space must yield a minimum of 79,253 to a maximum of 87,178 BOMA usable square feet, available for use by the Department of Education for personnel, furnishings and equipment. A total of 8 dedicated and secured parking spaces are required as part of the rental consideration. Parking spaces must be located within a two block radius of the office. Offers will be considered for properties within the following boundaries: North: Wacker Drive East: Michigan Avenue South: Congress Parkway West: Clinton Street Modern office space and facilities are required in an existing or newly constructed office building. The space must be altered to Government specifications, fully serviced, including janitorial. Offered space must contain minimum column spacing of 25'-0". A minimum of 600 square feet of structurally reinforced flooring is required to accommodate a high density file storage system. Space offered must be on three contiguous floors and cannot be located on the top or ground floor of the building. Government standards for handicapped accessibility and fire safety must be met. Lease term must be for 10 years, firm. Brokers or agents may represent the prospective landlord, but any properties or proposals submitted by brokers/agents must be accompanied by written evidence they are authorized to submit space for consideration and that they represent ownership. Expressions of interest must include the following: building name and address, rentable and BOMA usable square foot, base rate per square foot and common area factor.
