- The Government intends to award a sole source contract to ABB, Inc. Business Unit, 20350 So. Figueroa St., Carson, CA 90745 for the purpose of replacing various parts to overhaul one VTR454-11 turbocharger for the USNS ERICSSON (T-AO 184). The parts being procured are direct replacements for parts that have worn out in service. ABB Inc Business Unit Turbocharger holds the proprietary design data, material specifications and operating parameters relating to the manufacture of the repair parts and repair procedures for the parts and services being purchased. There are no other ABB Inc Business Unit Turbocharger licenced vendors in the country capable of producing or providing repair parts for this equipment. Parts from any other manufacturers producing similar equipment will neither fit nor function in this equipment. The use of non-ABB Inc Business Unit Turbocharger produced parts will void the manufacturer?s warranties and may result in personnel injury or severe equipment damage. The ABB Inc Business Unit Model VTR454-11 Turbocharger for the Propulsion Main Engines is Regulatory Body Controlled Equipment.
