- The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is soliciting sources for the full and open competitive procurement of the following US Currency packaging sets for resell use; 1) the development and manufacture of packaging for the 2004 $50 Premium Federal Reserve Set, 2) Quantity 500 units in accordance with specifications attached herein, see Statement of Need. A sample of the required package is available from the BEP and upon written request will be provided, the sample shall be returned with the written quotation. Offerors shall submit a sample of the proposed item for evaluation along with their quotation. Suggestions to approve the product appearance of the product will be considered but it must meet the requirements of the specifications as written. A technical review of the contractor?s prototype sample will be accomplished prior to award. The source selection decision will be based on the overall best value to the BEP. Evaluation factors which will be used to determine this award are as follows, Past Performance, Delivery Schedule, Packaging, Price; these are listed in descending order of importance. Delivery terms are F.O.B. Destination to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, located in Washington, DC. See attached copy of Evaluation factors for award. This procurement is 100% set aside for small businesses. The applicable NAICS code is 453998 and the associated small business size standard is $6.0 million. The simplified acquisition procedures set forth in FAR Parts 12, and 13 will be used. Only one award will be made from this solicitation via the issuance of a firm-fixed price simplified acquisition order. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) number is RFQ-05-0500. Quotations are due on May 31, 2005 by 12 Noon Eastern Time. Quotations may be mailed to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Office of Procurement, Attn: David Mork, Room 705-A, 14th and C Streets, SW, Washington, DC 20228-0001. Fax copies are acceptable and are to be sent to 202/874-2200. Telephone requests will not be honored. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered by the agency.
