- The Naval Surface Warfare Center, 110 Vernon Avenue, Panama City, FL (NSWC PC) intends to award a sole source contract to Comark Corporation of Bloomingdale, IL for twenty (20) serial interface units for the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) Service Life Extension Program (SLEP). This acquisition is unsuitable for full and open competition for the following reasons. The Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) Vehicle was first delivered in 1984 and had a service-life design of 20 years. Currently, the Navy has a Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) for the LCAC. Under SLEP, the LCAC will enter the 21st century with markedly improved performance and an increased life span. The Serial Interface Units utilized on the craft were specifically designed by Comark Corporation and are the only Serial Interface Units that are 100% compatible with the existing LCAC equipment. Use of another company?s Serial Interface Units may introduce new or change existing parameters that may do m! ore harm than good to the LCAC system. Therefore the COMARK Corporation is the only known source for these items. Delivery will be the Naval Support Activity - Panama City, Receiving Officer, Building 100, 101 Vernon Avenue, Panama City, FL 32407-7018. NAICS Code 334111 applies. SBA Size Standard is 1000 employees. FSC is 7050.
