- The Bureau of Reclamation, Mid-Pacific Region, intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) firm-fixed price construction contract for the Shasta Generators Unit 1 and Unit 2 Rewind. Work is located approximately 9 miles northwest of Redding California in Shasta County. Principal features of the work include: Shasta Powerplant generators unit 1 and unit 2: (a) Remove and dispose of existing generator armature windings, stator cores and voltage regulating equipment. (b) Modify existing rotating exciters. (c) Reinsulate existing generator field poles and windings. (d) Furnish and factory test new generator stator cores, armature windings and excitation systems. (e) Modify generator structural components to improve operation with increased safety factors at new rating referenced in section 16225 - Armature Windings: (1) Furnish new generator shaft coupling studs and nuts. (2) Modify rotor hub to shaft attachment system. (f) Thrust bearing systems: (1) Furnish new thrust bearing with high pressure oil lift system for unit 1 and unit 2. (2) Furnish new thrust bearing oil coolers for unit and unit 2. (g) Furnish online generator performance monitoring systems compatible with existing "Zoom" (VibroSystm) interface equipment and software. (h) Install, adjust and field test new equipment. (i) Furnish course materials and training sessions for Government personnel covering operation and maintenance of new excitation systems. The magnitude of this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. Performance and Payment bonds are 100% based on per generator unit on onsite work. Period of Performance is 1,000 calendar days from the date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed. This requirement is a Full and Open Competition. NAICS Code is: 333611 and size standard in number of employees is: 1,000. Solicitation 05SP202034 will be posted on the FEDBIZ OPS web site at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about May 23, 2005. The estimated date for receipt of bids is on or about June 23, 2005. The solicitation and specifications MUST be downloaded at the above site, with drawings being mailed to you by hardcopy. No paper copy of this solicitation will be distributed with the exception of the drawings. You must register on the Bidder's Mailing List to receive the drawings. Click on the solicitation number and then select the "Vendor Interest" tab taking the following steps: 1) click on the Vendor Interest Tab; 2) enter DUNS number; and 3) enter Password or Tax Identification Number. Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and Annual Representations and Certifications, as required by FAR 4.1102, applied to this procurement. Prospective contractors must be registered prior to award.
