- Notice of Contract Action for a Sole Source Procurement SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT FOR Master/Remote Ground Stations (MRGS) Upgrade Kits and Refurbishment of Pod Tube. DESC: INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT WITH DRS Technologies. The Air Force, Edwards Air Force Base, CA intends to award a Sole Source purchase order to DRS Technologies, 645 Anchors Street, Ft. Walton Beach, FL 32548. DRS Technologies is the manufacturer. The Sole Source purchase will be for the following two (2) commercial items: 1. Master/Remote Ground Station (MRGS) Upgrade Kit (Quantity – 3) 1 PPS Plate Assembly Cable Assembly, DLT to CDU Cable Assembly, S.I. IPPS Cable Assembly, Special Purpose Electrical Cable Assembly, AC Power Cable Assembly, GPS Antenna, Internal Cable Assembly, DLT to Hot Range Connector Plate Assembly Cable Assembly, x.21 to RS-530 Mounting Base Strap, Tiedown (used to secure cables to Mounting Base) Epoxy (used to mount Mounting Base) 2. POD Tube Refurbishment SOW (Quantity – 2) The Government will furnish tube 94111002-1 to be refurbished. Refurbishment includes stripping the tube of paint and part marking, removing old hanger assemblies, installing new hanger assemblies, part marking to original appearance, priming, and painting. Hanger assemblies to be replaced with the same part numbers as follows: 890100015-11 Forward Hanger Assembly, 1569519 Center Hanger Assembly, and 1569522 Rear Hanger Assembly. Government will package and ship the CFE to DRS TCS in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Period of performance is 30-60 days after receipt of order. Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the items above. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Air Force not to open the requirement to open competition, based on response to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Air Force. If the office has not received any affirmative written responses by Close of Business (COB), 14 May 05, a Sole Source purchase order will be pursued with DRS Technologies, 645 Anchors Street, Ft. Walton Beach, FL 32548.
