- THIS NOTICE IS FOR SOURCES SOUGHT ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS OR INVITATION FOR BIDS. The U. S. Army Engineer District, New Orleans, is seeking all business sources for removal, refurbishment, and replacement of 2 Linkbelt TC 48A cra nes as described below: The contractor shall pick up and return the crane(s) from the Bonnet Carre Spillway. The following work shall be accomplished during the refurbishment: 1. replace sheet metal on crane cab 2. repair boom 3. repair bridle 4. repair bail 5. replace cables 6. rebuild all shafts 7. replace engine water pump 8. repair radiator 9. install high amperage alternator 10. reseal center swivel 11. repair engine clutch Note: Base Crane = Linkbelt TC 48A, Stock Number 094343, and MS# 3AT-669 (east crane) Optional Crane = Linkbelt TC 48A, Stock Number 094342, and MS# 3AT-670 (west crane) A site visit is required to submit bid. After work is completed on each crane, the crane shall be weighed. This requirement will be procured as a firm fixed price contract. One crane will be repaired at a time. Both cranes need to be refurbished prior to 30 September 2005. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811310 an d the business size is $6,000,000.00. The Government invites contractors to submit Capability Statements consisting of appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references supporting their claim to meet the requirements specified above. Respondents must include references and a Ca pability Statement for at least 2 completed projects within the last 3 years of similar work. This synopsis does not restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition approach. This Sources Sought synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and should not be construed as a commitment by the Govern ment for any purpose nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this evaluation. NOTE: Contractor must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration to be eligible for contract awar d or payment from any DOD activity.
