Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this acquisition is NOI5067, and is being issued as a Notice of Intent. The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-03. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is a small business concern. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 339111, which has a business size standard of 500. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to procure Multitron II Shaking Incubators and accessories. The laboratory has a pressing need for a bacterial Shaker capacity with multiple temperatures and multiple speeds because the different plasmids to be amplified have different requirements based upon their different sizes and characteristics. This ?stacked? bacterial Shaker can accommodate three temperatures and/or speeds in the space of a single Shaker; temperature control is documented and is +/- 0.3 C. This is a compact, stackable shaking incubator with a patented drive system. Movement is transmitted without the usual mechanical components. This produces less noise, less wear, and no vibration. Integrates the shaking mechanism into the bottom of the case instead of an external drive mounted through the bottom of the shaker. It is a brushless, three-phase drive system with an AC motor. This allows a smaller and more ?air tight? cabinet, which allows the unit to run in a CO2-controlled atmosphere from 0-20%. Incubator holds 40 deep well plates and 120 standard Microtiter plates.
