- Description
- The VA Medical Center, 1970 Roanoke Blvd., Salem, Virginia has a requirement for off-site Combined Imaging Services, to include Mammography and Emergency Abdominal and Vascular Ultrasound Services. The contracted medical facility shall be located within a fifty (50) mile radius of the Salem VAMC. Mammography Services shall include unilateral, bilateral, screening, stereotactic, localization of lesions, echography of the breast and/or real time with image documentation, ultrasonic guidance for needle biopsy, computer digital enhanced views and MRI of the breast. Two-week follow-up care to be provided for minor complications from the procedure. It is estimated 800 patients shall require Mammography Services annually. Ultrasound Services shall include provision of emergency abdominal ultrasound services Friday 4:30 p.m. through Monday morning 8:00 a.m. (or through 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, if Monday is a holiday) and provision of emergency vascular ultrasound exams Saturday 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.; Sunday 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. and, if Monday is a holiday, Monday 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. It is estimated 24 patients shall require Emergency Ultrasound Services annually. Contractor?s employee(s) performing Mammography interpretations under this contract shall be Board Certified/Board Eligible Radiologist(s) with added documentation of mammography certification. Facility shall be a certified mammography facility by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services. Ultrasound services shall be performed by a Board Certified/Board Eligible Radiologist. Vascular services shall be performed by a Board Certified Surgeon or Radiologist in an ICAVL Certified Laboratory. The contracted facility shall have a current accreditation from the Joint Commission Accreditation of Hospitals. Radiologists must be a Physician, Board Certified in Radiology, must have current, unencumbered license in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the U.S. or the District of Columbia; Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification. It is the VA?s intent to solicit offers and award one contract on a competitive basis. The applicable NAICS Code is 621512 with a size standard of $11.5 Million. Contract period will be one (1) year from date of award with four (4) available option years. Solicitation packages will be available on or about May 2, 2005.
