- Description
- The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) seeks to award a contract for Pre-Grant Publication Classification Services on patent applications submitted for processing to the USPTO in Alexandria, Virginia. This requirement is consistent with the USPTO 's 21st Century Strategic Plan in order to reduce patent pendency and to concentrate more on the core functions of the examination and granting of patents. The anticipated contract type is Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ). The period of performance for this requirement is anticipated to be for a base period of one year and four additional one-year option periods. The Successful Offeror under the RFP will also have the possibility of earning up to a total of five, one-year award term periods. This requirement is anticipated to be full and open competition under North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code 541519. Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Clause 52.219-09 Small Business Subcontracting Plan (January 2002) will be included in the RFP. Further instructions will follow in the Request for Proposal. The estimated release date of the Request for Proposal (RFP) is May 17, 2005. The RFP will be posted on USPTO?s business opportunity Internet site at http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/ac/comp/proc/currproj.htm. Interested parties are responsible for checking the website regularly for release of the RFP and for other procurement-related documents. Since all procurement-related documents will be released via the Internet, a mailing list and list of interested vendors will not be available.
