- Synopsis is hereby modified to change the construction period from 180 days to 420 days. This construction project consists of the following items of work, but is not limited to these items: furnishing all labor, material, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies to perform all work necessary for reconstruction of Forest Road and Construction of Forest Development Roads. The project consists of 6.2 miles of road new construction, 0.37 miles of road reconditioning, rebuilding road 52001 also removing and rebuilding a log bulkhead including an option which includes another 2 mi. of new construction. Reconstruction includes road surface repair, clearing and grubbing, borrow excavation and embankment construction. The construction includes clearing and grubbing, excavation and embankment, furnishing, hauling and placing road material for the roadway including turnouts/pullouts, parking areas and approach road intersections, installing culverts, quality control and quantity measurement, certification for quality and quantity, erosion control, log bridge construction, mobilization, pit development, and seeding and fertilizing. The IFB solicitation will consist of a base bid and one option item bid. Estimated price range is between $1 million and $5 million. The performance period is 180 days. All responsible sources may submit a bid that will be considered. The solicitation and drawings will be available for downloading at http://www.fedbizops.gov on the solicitation issue date of May 11, 2005. A pre-bid meeting will be held in Ketchikan or Wrangle the week of May16-20, 2005. It will be the responsibility of the bidder to check Fedbizops for any amendments to the solicitation or this announcement.
