Description

Printing (BEP) intends to issue a solicitation to procure a commercially available digital imaging hardware and software system capable of physically inspecting banknote attributes with respect to location and positioning of printed features. The system would consist of a scanner, computer based software that is configured to measure controlled features of finished banknotes. The system should be capable of feeding at least 100 banknotes, capturing the exact image and electronically comparing that image to a master image stored on the system computer. The results would be gathered in a database for later examination. The system should be portable to enable the ease of moving it throughout the manufacturing facility. The system must possess optical character recognition capability in order to read serial numbers, plate locations and not the locator ID. The NAICS code for this procurement is 333298. The BEP anticipates issuing the subject request for quotation on or before May 9, 2005 for a Firm Fixed-Priced Contract.
