Description
SOURCES SOUGHT FOR UNMANNED UNDERWATER VEHICLE (UUV) The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City (NSWC PC) is seeking information on an Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV). Characteristics of the vehicle shall be as follows: Speed 1 -5 knots threshold Max water depth of 300m Minimum water depth the UUV shall be able to operate at the surface of the water ( not Map) The UUV shall be able to operate in water having a salinity of 0 - 45 ppt The UUV shall be able to operate in a current of 2 knots in any direction GPS navigation (no Long Baseline ) Search depth range 6-60 feet Mission Endurance 8 - 18 hours UUV standoff range 5 - 12 NM Must be capable of deployment and recovery from small Craft (CRRC) Transportation should be expected to be transported by military and civilian aircraft/helicopters (pressurized and non-pressurized) by land over road and rough terrain by truck and jeep and aboard ship. Should be small enough to fit through standard US Navy shipboard hatches. Should be able transmit data files required to produce a digital map and representation of data collected over radios organic to Recon Platoons. (PRC 117A, 138, 150, 119, 113) Should be capable of running multiple UUVs in the same search area without interference or degrading the capability of one another UUV should be able to survive a non-explosive impact while operating a forward speed of 3 knots by survival of impact or avoidance. The UUV shall weigh 120 pounds or less in air when in a mission ready state. The UUV shall be 1 or 2 person portable. The battery used to power the UUV shall be rechargeable with a recharge time from 90% discharged state shall be accomplished in less then 12 hours. The Battery shall have a discharge feature. The data storage capacity shall be large enough to store all data collect on an 8 hour mission. The UUV must be able to operate in and with stand the effects of up to 10 foot plunging surf or have a sonar capable of penetrating the active surf zone from the outside set of breakers to the 6ft mark without entering the surf zone. The UUV will be used to make a three dimensional map of the bottom from the 40ft deep mark to the 6 foot deep mark with no dead spaces in sonar coverage. The UUV must be able to with stand a rapid decompression such as a parachute operation. The UUV must be able to map a 500 X 500 yard section of bottom in depths from 6 ft to 40 ft in depth with no dead space in sonar coverage and handle a standard surf zone turbulence. This is a sources sought announcement only and is not a solicitation or Broad Agency Announcement. A solicitation will not be issued as a result of this announcement. If a solicitation is developed it will be advertised in the Government Point of Entry (GPE). Responses to this sources sought should be sent to the address stated below not later than 30 days after posting. This announcement should not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract.
