Description
THIS NOTICE IS FOR SOURCES SOUGHT ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS OR INVITATION FOR BIDS. The U.S. Army Engineer District, New Orleans, is seeking all business sources for FTIR air monitoring equipment services and system application supp ort (data analysis) at Calcasieu Lock. Additional requirements include the following: You will be required to 1) have at least 10 years experience specifically addressing the challenges of gas phase analysis and designing custom automated systems, 2) pr ovide hermetically sealable spectrometers for extended life in harsh environment, 3) have a porch-swing bearing type interferometer for maximum stability in a mechanically harsh environment, 4) have manufacturing capabilities to engineer gas cells to the spectrometer, which enhances optical throughput and increases sensitivity, 5) provide specific quantitative vapor phase reference spectra. This requirement will be procured as a firm fixed price contract. The period of performance starts 1 October 2005. The contract length is undetermined at this time. It could be short term or as long as a basic contract with option years. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541710 and the business size standard is 500 employe es. The Government invites contractors to submit Capability Statements consisting of appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references supporting their claim to meet the requirements specified above. Respondents must include references and a ca pability statement for at least 2 completed projects within the last 3 years of similar work. Each reference should include the company name and title, telephone number, and point of contact. Responses to this Sources Sought synopsis will be in writing b y submitting company's name, address, point of contact information, phone number, fax number, and email address by fax to Henry Camburn at (504) 862-2892 or email to Henry.L.Camburn@mvn02.usace.army.mil. This synopsis does not restrict the Government to a n ultimate acquisition approach. This Sources Sought Synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents w ill not be notified of the results of this evaluation. NOTE: Contractor must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration to be eligible for contract award or payment from any DOD activity. Information on registration may be obtained by callin g 1-888-227-2423 or via the internet at http://www.ccr.gov. Registration requires applicants to have a DUNS number from Dun & Bradstreet. Recommend registering immediately in order to be eligible for timely award.
