Description
This is published as a sole source announcement under the authority of the test program for commercial items (Section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996). The proposed contract action is for commercial services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to the authority FAR 13.501(a)(1)(ii). See Note 22. The NAICS code for this action is 334516. The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) San Diego, CA intends to award a sole source contract to Bio-Rad Diagnostics Division, Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. Aforementioned supplies is for the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC), San Diego, CA. A listing of the line item numbers and descriptions are as follows: (a) DNA Engine Tetrad, 2 Peltier Thermal Cycler/Specs: windows operating system-based software, has 4-bay high-throughput thermal cycling, up to 8 individual sample blocks, which can be controlled independently or as a group, can process simultaneously of up to 1,536 samples, the internal power supply-no separate boxes to accommodate, has high-density color display and on-board mousepad, with point and click navigation of software and has real time monitoring of cycling temperature (2 each); (b) Single Block Alpha Engine 96V. Units feature multi-zone thermal control for optimal temperature uniformity across the sample block. The 96-well format Alpha blocks have a! temperature gradient capability as a standard feature (8 each); and (c) Dual Alpha Engine, 30/30 dual blocks for 0.5ml tubes. Dual Alpha units feature independent temperature control, regardless of chassis type, and have separate heated lids (2 each). Interested vendors may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. The provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations And Certifications ? Commercial Items, (January 2004) Alternate I (April 2002) applies. This provision is a fill-in and Offerors must complete all applicable portions and submit the completed copy with its quote. To obtain a copy, please contact Ms. Evelyn Atienza. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all statements of interest and capability received no later than 4 May 2005. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All statements of interest/capability documentation must be submitted via email a! ttachment or fax to the attention of Ms. Evelyn Atienza at 619-532-2576. Mailed documents will not be accepted.
