Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue sole source procurement to the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Inc, 1 Bungtown Rd., Cold Spring Harbor, NY, 11724, pursuant to 41 u.s.c.253?(1). The purpose of this procurement is to provide partial funding supprt for the workshop titled ?From Markers to Models: Integrating Data to Make Sense of Biologic Systems.? The workshop is to be held @Banbury Center, Cold Spring Harbor, NY, September 18-21, 2005. This workshop is being co-sponsored by the CFIDS Association of America, Inc., and the National Center for Infectious Disease (NCID), Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The objective of this workshop is to discuss the results generated from a six-month computational challenge that engaged computer scientists, statisticians, biologists and clinicians to mine biologically and clinically meaningful information from a 2-day in-patient clinical study of 227 persons with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, other unexplained chronically fatiguing illnesses, and randomly selected non-fatigued controls. CDC reserves the right to review the full content of the workshop agenda, speaker selection, promotional materials and reports or proceedings resulting from the workshop, and to terminate sponsorhip if it does not concur with any portion of the progam. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 10 days of date of notice to the original point of contact. Responses must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 10 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be awarded to the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. There is no solicitation package available.
