Description
Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History for the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary (CINMS)to provide interactive theater system components; MPEG-2 encoder; live dive program and equipment. The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History's Sea Center and their chosen contractor are to supply all exhibit detail design, equipment, fabrication, finishing, and exhibit support. Since 1987, the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History has partnered with the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary in the development and implementation of several highly successful projects in the creation of the exemplary education programs at the Sea Center on Stearns Wharf, the award-winning Los Marineros marine education program for 5th grade school children, and the Waves on Wheels education and outreach Van. Our successes are notable. Over the years, the Sea Center evolved from a casual, walk-in visitor center into a dynamic education resource serving more than 70,000 visitors and 7,000 school children each year. The projected attendance for the new Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History Ty Warner Sea Center, which has recently been completely renovated and redesigned is approximately 120,000 visitors, including 15,000 school children each year. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000. The Western Administrative Support Center Acquisition Management Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) as of October 1, 2003. After this date, NO award can be made unless the vender is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov. In order to register with the CCR and to be eligible to receive an award from this acquisition office, all offerors must have a Dun & Bradstreet Number.
