- This Request for Proposal is for construction of a ranger district/nursery office. Construction of a 7,623 gross square foot single story office building with a slab on grade will utilize structural insulated panels (SIPs) for exterior walls, wood framing for the interior walls, and an engineered truss roof system. Construction will include complete electrical, communications, water, fire detection, wastewater, and geothermal cooling, and heating systems. Other work includes final site grading, constructing an information kiosk, and miscellaneous items to provide a complete operational ranger district office. Construction must meet the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Silver rating status as defined by the U.S. Green Building Council. Project also includes demolition of existing tennis courts and chain link backstops; excavation and earthmoving; concrete paving; and under ground water distribution system. The proposed contract is located in Thomas County, Nebraska, approximately 1.5 miles west of Halsey, Nebraska at the Bessey Ranger District and Nursery compound. The project area is part of the Nebraska National Forest. The performance period for the proposed contract is 300 calendar days. The magnitude of the proposed contract is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This will be a firm-fixed price contract. The proposed contract is available under full and open competition. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered. The anticipated date for posting of the solicitation on the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fedbizopps.gov) is on or around May 17, 2005.
