- Description
- The United States Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission (USIBWC) has a requirement for a firm-fixed price contract for construction of a personnel building for the USIBWC Mercedes Project Office. The project is located at 325 Golf Course Road, Mercedes, Texas. Major components include: construction of an approximately 3,989 square foot building with offices, a conference room, bathrooms, and men?s and women?s showers. The project will require the demolition of a wood frame building that is covered with sheet metal. It will also require demolition and replacement of asphalt paving, scarifying soil, installation of a soil pad for the building using acceptable soil types and proper compaction. The project also requires that utilities be extended to the building. These utilities include water service, underground electrical service, provision for future emergency electrical service, underground television cable, and underground computer telephone cable from the main building office complex to the new building. The new building will require the installation of a septic system. A pre-bid conference and site visit will be held. Attendance is highly recommended. Estimated range of construction is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. Tentative dates for issuing and opening Invitation for Bid (IFB) IBM05B0001 are May 13, 2005 and June 17, 2005, respectively. Contract performance is scheduled at three hundred sixty five (365) calendar days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. Plans will be available for inspection at the International Boundary and Water Commission, U.S. Section, The Commons, Building C, Suite 226, El Paso, Texas79902, Attn: Irma Gurrola. All requests for bid documents must be in writing. No telephone requests will be accepted. Requests must include business name, point of contact, address, telephone number (include area code) and IFB number. In order to ensure availability of bid documents, it is requested that requests for the bid documents be received by May 9, 2005. There will be no charge for the solicitation package. The requirement is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 236220 for Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The associated size standard is $28.5 million annual average gross receipts for the past three years.
