- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command has a requirement to modify approximately eighty-five, P-3C Standby Attitude Indicators (Peanut Gyros) presently installed in the P-3C to operate with DC power vice AC power. This modification is necessary to support Electronic Flight Director System (EFDS) installations under Communications, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) Program for the United States Navy P-3/EP-3 aircraft, as well as Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and other Government Agency (eg., NOAA) users of the P-3. The services and supplies to be ordered include: material and labor to perform the modification of the Standby Attitude Indicators (Peanut Gyros), sustaining engineering, maintenance and engineering services; integrated logistics support; and overhaul, restoration and repair. The Navy intends to negotiate with the Original Equipment Manufacturer, L-3 Communications, 5353 52nd Street SE, P. O. Box 873, Grand Rapids, MI., USA 49512-9704. L-3 Communications retains proprietary rights to the indicators. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement within 45 days from issuance of this notice. All responses will be considered by the Agency. Note 22 applies.
