Description
This project will consist of stabilize base course and hot asphalt concrete pavement on 21.960 kilometers of roadway for Utah PFH 39-1(1a), Sevenmile-Gooseberry Road, in Fishlake National Forest, Sevier County, State of Utah. Estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $3,000,000. Principal work items include: lump sum contractor testing; 3,340 m3 subexcavation; 2.440 km road reconditioning, pulverize 90 mm depth; 2,180 metric tons Portland cement; 325 metric tons magnesium chloride; 1,810 metric tons minor crushed aggregate; 60,200 m2 stabilized base course, 250 mm depth; 900 metric tons asphalt cement grade PG 64-34; 14,600 metric tons superpave asphalt concrete pavement, 12.5 mm or 19 mm nominal maximum size aggregate equals type II pavement smoothness incentive; 890 metric tons minor hot asphalt concrete; 3,000 hours traffic control; along with associated surveying, staking, curbing and pavement marking. The following applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs): The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000 with interest at prime rate, as published daily in the Wall Street Journal, plus 1.75 percent.
