Qualification requirements: Requires pre-qualification of sources to ensure reliability of parts. Due to the complexity and criticality of the parts, only actual manufacturers that have successfully completed all testing required by the original company for the design or manufacturers that have successfully completed all testing on items can be considered for approved sources for this item. The qualification requirements for this item were established prior to 1984 and the requirements of FAR 9.202(a) do not apply. Suitable technical data, government data rights, or manufacturing knowledge are not available to permit acquisition from other sources, nor qualification testing of another part, nor use of a second source part in the intended application..
