- On 31 March 2005, Naval Air Systems Commmand submitted an initial Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN) REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) to industry via FEDBIZOPS (reference number TACAN-RF1). The RFI provided a brief overview of the program and conducted market research and planning for the potential upgrade/replacement of the AN/URN-25 TACAN Transponder Groups portion of TACAN. As a result of this RFI, NAVAIR has determined that Industry has significant interest in TACANS related technology and acquisition. The Industry?s time and effort expended in responding to TACANS RFI is recognized and appreciated. As introduced in the RFI, TACANS Industry day will be held on 27-28 April.
