Description

The Bureau of Reclamation, Yuma Area Office, Yuma, Arizona, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Chemetek, 4131 North Overlook Terrace, Portland OR 97217 for the following requirement which consist of the procurement of 12 automatic plugging factor monitors which are used to measure the silt density index of water being fed into reverse osmosis membrane systems. These automated plugging factor monitors have been in development at the WQIC per research agreement with Chemetek, Inc., entitled "Automatic SDI for Industrial and Municipal Water Treatment Plants" (funded through a Technology Maturation grant administered by Reclamation's Science & Technology Research Program). Through this research agreement, Reclamation and Chemetek pooled their individual patents (DOI Patent 4,554,822 and Chemetek patent 5,253,514) to create a monitoring device customized to the needs of the YDP and WQIC. This procurement will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition procedures. The anticipated award date is May 3, 2005. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. Offers shall show contractor's capability to provide required items and be received by 12 Noon, local time, May 2, 2005.
