- NOUN: Convergent Nozzle Segment; NSN: 2840-01-308-4465NZ; P/N: 4071142; QTY: 42; U/I: Each; DELIVERY: December 2005 to Tinker AFB OK; APPLICABLE TO: F100PW229 Engine. SIZE/DEMENSIONS: Approximately 21 inches X 4.75 inches, PREMONINANT MATERIAL: Nickel Base Alloy; FORM/FIT/FUNCTION: The divergent nozzle segment is a component part of the Augmentor nozzle assy. The divergent segment works in unison with the convergent nozzle segment to control the nozzle throat size and exit area. Anticipated Solicitation Issue Date: 20 May 2005. Anticipated award date 15 June 2005. No telephone solicitation requests well be accepted. To be eligible for contract award, offerors must be approved sources. The Government is not required to delay contract award to review pending Source Approval Requests (SARs). Therefore, offerors are encouraged to submit SARs as soon as possible. If the Government has not completed review of the SAR when the contract is awarded, the SAR will be retained and the source will be reviewed for possible Source Approval for future awards. Government Furnished drawings will not be provided with the solicitation. To obtain technical data, potential offerors must use TEDS at https:www.fedteds.gov/. A formal solicitation will be issued, and if a potential source wishes to have a formal solicitation, one will be supplied. The award is expected to be made to approved sources on record as of this posting. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). NOTE: An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the Program Manager or Contracting Officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
