- Issue date: 27 APR 2005. Miltope TP2000 Printer. This is a microcomputer controlled, high speed, thermal printer that uses 4 1/2 inch wide paper rolls. Sole source: Cage: 54418, Miltope Corporation, 3800 Richardson Road South, Hope Hull, AL 36043-4022 Sole source provide justification: Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1), Justification: Supplies (or Services) required are available from only one or a limited number of responsible source(s) and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The proposed contract is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one, or a limited number of sources under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the proposal. However, the Government will consider all proposals received prior to the closing date on the solicitation. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Specifications, plans, or drawings relating to the procurement described are incomplete or not available and cannot be furnished by the Government. The Government does not own the data or the rights to the data needed to purchase this item from additional sources. Sole Source: Miltope Corporation, 3800 Richardson Road South, Hope Hull, AL 36043-4022. Miltope is the Original Equipment Manufacturer. The current printer being used requires a unique type of paper which is almost out of stock and is no longer manufactured. This has made it necessary to pruchase these newer printers that are compatible with the Re-entry System Test Set (RSTS) for the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Weapon System. Any change in printer design would necessitate an extensive engineering effort to fit a new model of printer into the A15 rack and to interface a new printer with the RSTS computer. There are no identified alternatives to this Miltope printer model. Electronic procedures will be used for this solicitation.
