- The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Telecommunication and Information System Command (TISCOM), has a requirement for the purchase of the Type 2 Cryptographic Support Server (T2CSS) Card. The Type 2 Cryptographic Support Server (T2CSS) is a high security, high performance cryptographic engine which off loads cryptographic processes from its host. It supplies hardware-based FORTEZZA security services to server applications supporting large numbers of users. DHS/USCG has concluded their requirement will best be met through a proprietary configuration. The system is manufactured by 3S Group Inc. DHS/USCG intends to negotiate with 3S Group Inc on a sole source basis. Any contractor contemplating this requirement should know that the only vendor for the T2CSS is 3S Group, Inc. The T2CSS is the ONLY known product that can provide the functionality and security features required for integration into DMS Specialty Products and approved by the National Security Agency (NSA) to be used. The requirement must contain the following: 1) 8 processor cryptographic server board, 2) software, 3) on-line documentation, 4) 1-year warranty, 5) approved by NSA to be used. It is contemplated that award shall be made utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No telephone inquiries will be honored.
