Description
The Kansas City Commodity Office (KCCO), Farm Service Agency, U.S. Department of Agriculture is a buyer of truck lots of food commodities for various domestic feeding programs. Additional information about the programs and/or submitting offers on commodities is available at: http://www.fsa.usda.gov/daco/default.htm. All contractors interested in offering commodities shall comply with KCCO?s qualification requirements as required by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 9.202(f). The qualification requirements are available at: http://www.fsa.usda.gov/daco/VendorQualifications/QualificationRequirements.htm. The following commodities, which are classified under NAICS code 311222, are purchased by KCCO. Purchases for Domestic Feeding Programs For Grain and Miscellaneous Processed Food Products: http://www.fsa.usda.gov/daco/Announcement/Domestic/domesticannon.htm Vegetable Oil Products (VP): Salad oils and vegetable oil shall meet the requirements of Commercial Item Description A-A-20091D (May 7, 2002), Types I and IV, Style A or B, except those requirements of Sections 9, 10, 11, and 12.1. Peanut oil is excluded from the list of oils allowed under Section 3 of the Commercial Item Description. Pack sizes 6/1 gallon, 8/48 ounce and bulk. Low saturated fat vegetable oil cannot exceed one (1) gram of saturated fat per one (1) tablespoon serving as defined by the Food and Drug Administration in 21 CFR 101.62. The vegetable oil must be manufactured and labeled ?low saturated fat? in accordance with National Labeling and Education Act (NLEA) guidelines cited in 21 CFR 101.9. Pack Size 6/1 gallon. Shortening Compounds shall meet the requirements of Commercial Item Description A-A20100C (May 1, 2002), including net weight requirements, except those requirements of Sections 9, 10, 11, and 12.1. Type II shortening compounds are excluded. The 12/3 pound and 50 pound pack sizes of shortening are limited to Type 1 shortening. Liquid shortening is limited to Type III shortening. The liquid shortening must be entirely free from animal products. Pack Size 6/1 gallon. Container and packaging requirements are those used in the current commercial shipping practices.
