Description
The Sierra Pacific Network Consolidated Contracting Activity intends to conduct a sole source negotiation with Bruker Biospin Corporation to purchase one (1) 4T Body Coil to include 1H volume resonator equipment with non-magnetic T/R switch (rated at 7KW). Inner diameter 615 mm with outer diameter at 680 mm. One (1) 1H RF transmitter (7KW) equipped with power control, water cooling and RF filtering and one (1) Syngo Auto align software package. The whole coil shall be used for improved anatomical and functional brain MRI at 4 Tesla. This transmit-only coil is necessary to achieve uniform excitation across head and neck regions, providing improved contrast, uniformity, and overall better quality for imaging of the brain. The 1H RF Transmitter is necessary to drive RF transmission with this whole body coil, providing 7 KW power. The whole body coil and high power RF transmitter by Bruker Biospin will permit more advanced MRI studies at 4T. This equipment shall provide imaging of lower brain and neck; increased flexibility for paralled MR imaging; improved arterial spin labeling for brain perfusion MRI; improved signal uniformity for high-resolution structural MRI ; improved uniformity for volumetric spectroscopic imaging and improved signal uniformity for functional and diffusion MRI. The coil and amplifier are custom designed for the 4T MRI system and available only from Bruker Biospin, maker of the 4T system. System includes installation and software training from a qualified representative of the company. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The notice is not a request for competitive quotations. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any fikrm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within ten (10) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis.
