Description
Supervisor of Shipbuilding, C&R, USN, Bath, Maine (SOSB) on behalf of Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center, Portsmouth, VA (MRMC) intends to solicit bids for the dry-docking and repair of the YRBM-8 Living Barge. The barge is currently located at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Maine. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for small business. SOSB anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract for the required work. To be qualified, a vendor (1) must hold a current MSRA or ABR with the Department of the Navy prior to the date of award and (2) must currently be registered in the DOD Central Contractor Registry (CCR) database. The vessel dimensions are 112 feet in overall length, 36 feet extreme beam, 236 long tons of light displacement, and 310 long tons of full load displacement. Performance is expected to take no longer than 3 months and is to commence within 30 days of contract award. This is an extensive repair/overhaul. The tasks to be performed inclu! de but are not limited to: replace roof gutters; inspect and repair underwater hull; install watertight doors; modification of electrical system; replacement of dial telephone services "CKT J"; replacement of announcing system "CKT 1MC"; modification of alarm system; replace heat control thermostats; replace air conditioning units; replace fire hose; accomplish bulkhead removal; replace window mini-blinds; preserve interior compartments; replace hull zincs; reseal terrazzo deck; replace non-skid; replace chill box; repair walk-in freezer; install cookie sheet and cake pan cooling racks; replace crew mess deck equipment; replace convection oven; replace garbage grinder; replace wardroom counter; replace washer and dryer; drydocking and undocking. A list of Government Furnished Material (GFM) will be provided with the solicitation package. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be available on or around 27 April 2005 and will be open for 30 days.
