- Description
- The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has a requirement for a communications system at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Cheltenham driving range. The contractor shall design, engineer, furnish, install, integrate with existing communications systems, and test all equipment necessary to provide wireless communications for a 1.3 mile vehicle road course. Voice communications are required between the main instructor tower and instructors in seven other towers overlooking the driving range, and students operating on the driving range. The communication functions will be supported through a combination of wired and wireless communications. This acquisition is for equipment and incidental services: radio frequency desktop control stations, two-position console system, related equipment (operator positions and desktop remote equipment), and equipment installation. Installation includes, for example, grounding and lightning suppression systems, and installing 300 feet of cabling in an existing underground conduit between instructor tower positions. The required system must be Project 25 (P25) compliant in order to function and interface with existing land mobile radios and other equipment. DHS plans release of solicitation HSHQPA-05-R-00008 on or about April 20, 2005, with a site visit planned for Thursday, April 28, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. Offerors interested in attending the site visit must register in advance through the DHS procurement office by 12 noon on April 22, 2005, in order to be allowed access to the Cheltenham facility. Offerors are limited to two (2) persons per company. The following information must be provided in advance to John Ziu at john.ziu@dhs.gov: name, date of birth, and social security number. All attendees must be U.S. Citizens.
