- Description
- The scope of work includes but is not limited to removal of the existing membrane, insulation and bituminous flashing and installation of a new roofing system appropriate for the building. Generally, all existing copper counter flashings should be reused. Copper-to-limestone coping joints should be resealed with new backer rods and caulking. Provide cant strips at changes in surface planes. Existing flashings around roof penetrations need to be better detailed than what presently exists. Curbs that are of insufficient heights should be raised. Provide optimum roof insulation and sufficient slope to all drains to prevent ponding. Exposed parapet brickwork joints should be re-pointed as needed. The work will be performed at the Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse located at 204 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. The contract completion time is 120 calendar days from the receipt of Notice to Proceed. This project is set aside to Small Business Concerns only. The North American Industrial Classification Code is 238160 with a size standard of $12.0 million. The estimated cost range is between $100,000 and $200,000. The solicitation will be issued on or about March 16, 2005. Interested parties must access the solicitation via the FedTeds website at www.fedteds.gov. The solicitation will not be available on the FedBizOpps website. Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading the solicitation and monitoring the website for possible amendments and/or additional information. Contractors must register on the FedTeds website to have access to solicitation material. This registration includes providing a Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Marketing Partner Identification Number (MPIN). For additional information, visit the FedTeds website, www.fedteds.gov, or the CCR website, www.ccr.gov. In addition, beginning January 1, 2005, as required by the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) all vendors will be required to use the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) in federal solicitations as a part of the proposal submission. For additional information, visit the ORCA website, www.orca.bpn.gov. Potential offerors should refer to the solictiation package for further instructions involving the use of ORCA.
