- The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego (SSC SD) intends to solicit and award a single, sole source to provide modification to the existing Log-Periodic Dipole (LPD) Localizer Array to provide back-course coverage and troubleshooting, re-alignment of the antenna, analysis, and optimization of the VHF Omni-Range Equipment. The equipment is located on the Island of Diego Garcia NSF. The services required include the areas of construction of New Alford loop antennas, tune, and repair equipment to satisfy all perimeters for securing a successful FAA Flight Check, modify localizer LPD Antenna to propagate proper angles for landing aircraft. The aluminum bridge-mounting plate will be mounted on the shelter wall to relocate the bridge for ease of maintance and tune-up. The antenna counterpoise itself will be inspected for corrosion and problems related to bonding. The estimated cost for this service is $22K. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes and is posted for 10 days. A determination by the Government not to compete based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Authority for other than full and open competition is in FAR 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other suppliers or services will satisfy agency requirements.
