Description

The Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.501 to BAE Systems Mission Solutions, Inc., 11487 Sunset Hills Road, Reston, Virginia 20190-5234. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP)  only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Topographic Engineering Center (TEC) Topographic Systems Branch requirements consists of purchasing additional modules and annual maintenance for the right to receive upgrades, patches, fixes, and software support from BAE Systems for previously purchased Socet Set photogram metric imagery processing software. This is proprietary mapping software, which is used in precise registration and product generation of aerial imagery, from many sources. The additional modules and upgrade entitlements must be obtained from BAE Systems M ission Solutions, Inc, the creator of the Socet Set Software. Period of performance for the software maintenance is one (1) year. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilitie s and qualifications to provide this supply or service in writing to the identified point of contact not later that 1600 hrs CST on 15 April 2005. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to c onduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral commu nications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFQ will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
