Description
The Transportation Security Administration has a requirement for glass partitions to be utilized by TSA airport screening checkpoints throughout the United States and its territories. This requirement will be competed as a single award best value Firm Fixed Price IDIQ type contract. The contract will have a 1 year base period with 4 one year options. The following synopsizes the requirements of the supplies to be purchased. Further detail requirments will be included in the Request for Proposal and Statement of Work to be issued. The glass panels shall be manufactured as a single pane of ?? tempered glass that is enclosed in an aluminum frame. The total height of the glass panel to include the framing shall be 72?. The Government may order these panels in the following widths: 11?, 24?, 36?, and 48?. The panels shall be enclosed in a frame constructed of 6063-T6 clear anodized aluminum with a wall thickness of .100?. The vertical frame members shall measure 3.5? x 1.75? and the horizontal frame members shall measure 3.5? x 2.5?. The frame shall be fastened together in each corner with a die cast zinc alignment block and a ?-20 UNC x 1.25? long thread forming screw. The frames shall include a top brace that is uninterrupted and is mechanically fastened together to the top of the panel run. The top cap shall be constructed of 6063 T6 clear anodized aluminum. The panels shall be supported by two ?? thick welded aluminum feet that are screwed to the frame via a ?-20 UNC x 1.25? long thread forming screw. Each foot will be secured to the floor with a ??-13UNC bolt that threads into a concrete floor anchor. The base of each panel shall be trimmed with a .065? deep x 4? high snap-on 6061 T6 clear anodized aluminum base cover. The panels shall be secured to an adjacent panel or post by an extruded PVC connector strip. In order to form various configurations, the panels may be connected to corner posts, end posts, or angle posts. The corner post shall measure 4? x 4? and shall be 72? tall. The corner post shall be constructed of 6063-T6 clear anodized aluminum with a wall thickness of .125?. The corner post shall be connectable to the glass panels with an extruded PVC connector strip. The corner post shall include a top cap that provides a mechanical means of keeping the top cap continuous around the corner. The corner post shall field trimmed and rest upon the floor providing a finished end to the base cover. The end post shall measure 2? x 4? and shall be 72? tall. The end post shall be constructed of 6063-T6 clear anodized aluminum with a wall thickness of .125?. The end post shall be connectable to the glass panels with an extruded PVC connector strip. The end post shall include a top cap. The end post shall field trimmed and rest upon the floor providing a finished end to the base cover. The angle post shall be 72? tall and allow two panels to connect to form a 135 degree angle. The angle post shall be constructed of 6063-T6 clear anodized aluminum with a wall thickness of .125?. The angle post shall be connectable to the glass panels with an extruded PVC connector strip. The angle post shall include a top cap that provides a mechanical means of keeping the top cap continuous around the corner. The angle post shall field trimmed and rest upon the floor providing a finished end to the base cover. The Government may require glass doors which are manufactured as a single pane of ?? tempered glass enclosed in an aluminum frame. The Government may order these doors in widths of 36? or 48?. The door shall be framed in 6063 T6 clear anodized aluminum. The door shall include standard cylindrical door handle hardware. The door shall be pivotally mounted in a door frame that measures 2? x 84? x 36? or 48?. The doorframe shall be manufactured of 6063 T6 extruded aluminum with a wall thickness of .100?. The vertical and horizontal members of the frame shall measure 2? x 4?. Small businesses interested in receiving a Request for Proposal shall email their company name, address, POC, email and phone number to Susan Hong at susan.hong@dhs.gov not later than 0900 EDT on April 14, 2005. The TSA anticipates releasing the RFP to those parties requesting a solicitation on or about April 15, 2005.
