Description
This Contracting Activity is actively seeking the availability of qualified large businesses, small businesses, Section 8(a) businesses, Small Disadvantaged Businesses, Historically Underutilized businesses, Women-Owned businesses, Service-Disabled V eteran businesses, Veteran-Owned businesses, and any other businesses interested in supplying Generator Air Coolers. This Request for Information is seeking firms capable of supplying forty-eight Generator Air Coolers for the Fort Randall Power Plant. Th e existing coils are approximately 10 feet wide by 4 feet high and 1 foot deep. The Fort Randall Power Plant is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers hydroelectric generating facility located on the Missouri River in South Dakota. The facility features eight ge nerating units, and each unit has six sir coolers. The air coolers rely on raw water (strained lake water) for cooling. The existing air coolers are of the finned tube type with horizontal tubes. Each of the new air coolers shall have a rated capacity o f at least 882,000 BTU/hour at the following conditions: Maximum water flow - 120 gallon per minute; Assumed water temperature into coolers - 77 degrees F; Maximum water pressure differential across cooler - 10 PSI; Altitude - 1,265 feet above mean sea level; Temperature of air entering cooler - 140 degrees F; Air pressure dropacross cooler - 0.75 inches water gage; Assumed available air flow - 25,500 cubic feet per minute.
